Renew Your Mind

Do not be conformed to this world. How do we as Christians look different from the world? We have to be transformed by the renewing of our minds. God has a perfect plan for our lives and when our minds are renewed, we can live that out. The Bible says to put off the old man and put on the new man which was created according to God. We must ask God to transform and guard our minds, next we fill our minds with God’s Word and meditate on scripture throughout the day. When our mind is renewed it shifts our focus. It sets our thoughts on things above. Our minds can be consumed with, worry, anxiety, stress, fear, and doubt. All of these things take our focus off of God and His plan for our lives. When our minds are filled with truth it drowns out all worldly junk. It helps us live in a way that pleases God. We have to protect our minds from the enemy. If we can recognize his lies, then we can take those thoughts captive and speak truth over them and it can change our life. I know this might be easier said than done but it’s a process we must work on every day. The more we do it the more natural it will become to us.

Do not be conformed to this age, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may discern what is the good, pleasing, and perfect will of God. Romans 12:2

To take off your former way of life, the old self that is corrupted by deceitful desires, to be renewed in the spirit of your minds, and to put on the new self, the one created according to God's likeness in righteousness and purity of the truth. Ephesian 4:22-24

Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. Colossians 3:2

This book of instruction must not depart from your mouth; you are to meditate on it day and night so that you may carefully observe everything written in it. For then you will prosper and succeed in whatever you do. Joshua 1:8
