Faith

I’ve been thinking about this woman. Thinking about how sad and lonely her life must have been. She had a bleeding disorder, and this disorder made her ceremonial unclean. She was isolated socially and religiously. This was her life for twelve years. She was an outcast. She had been to many physicians and spent everything she had looking for a cure. Her disorder was getting worse. She must have been so desperate. She heard about Jesus and just wanted to touch the hem of his garment. She believed that this would cure her disorder. In desperation and with determination she pushed her way through the crowd. She touched the hem of his garment and instantly she was healed. When Jesus asked who touched me, she was hesitant to come forward. What would he say to her? Would he scold her? No, Jesus called her daughter. Just imagine how that moment must have felt. She was an outcast, she was unclean, no one wanted anything to do with her and here is Jesus calling her daughter. I can see Jesus kneeling down on the ground in front of her, embracing her, and saying, ‘Daughter, your faith has saved you. Go in peace. Wow! What a moment. Jesus changed her life in an instance. We should never let our fear keep us from God. He can change the unchangeable. He can turn a hopeless situation around. We must be like this woman and put our faith into action.
