Are We Serving

When we think about the sacrifice that was made for us, we should want to serve Christ in every way possible. Out of selfless love He gave His life for us. How are we serving? Are we serving God and others? We should be motivated by God’s great love and sacrifice to serve. Serving helps us focus on the needs of others and not ourselves. We are to love others as we love ourselves. It is hard to love others in this way. When people are different from us, we might view them in a different way. We might judge them or look down on them. We have to keep in mind that God created them. They are made in His image. He loves them just like He loves us, and He wants to have a relationship with them. We have to be that light. We have to meet people where they are and serve them. The Bible says that each one of us has received a gift and we are to use it to minister to one another and be good stewards of it. We should be as eager to do good as we are to have good done to us. Let us not love in word or in tongue but in deed and in truth. It’s easy to say we are going to do this or that but it’s not always easy to serve. It takes sacrifice. It takes time and effort. We should be pouring into people and building relationships. We be serving and showing the love of Jesus. Do our actions say that we love others? What do your actions say about you?

For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many. Mark 10:45

The greatest among you will be your servant. Whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and whoever humbles himself will be exalted. Matt 23:11-12

For you were called to be free, brothers and sisters; only don't use this freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but serve one another through love. For the whole law is fulfilled in one statement: Love your neighbor as yourself. Galatians 5:13-14

Just as each one has received a gift, use it to serve others, as good stewards of the varied grace of God. 1 Peter 4:10
